Cost Reporting and Fund Reimbursement System (CRFRS)
EM-Assist’s Cost Reporting and Fund Reimbursement System (CRFRS) is a Web-based data management application that streamlines accounting procedures and provides easy access to high-quality hazardous waste cost data. It was developed to utilize existing waste management data systems and integrate the associated data contained therein to improve data integrity, provide detailed cost-based analyses, and simplify cost reporting and invoicing.
The CRFRS approach to data management has proven effective in assisting hazardous waste managers with day-to-day hazardous waste program management, promoting accountability among waste generators and leading to reduced waste disposal costs and quantities. CRFRS is a secure, scalable system that can be installed within a user’s existing computer network.
CRFRS includes the following features:
- Produces consistent, standardized, and defensible metrics across installations and commands;
- Provides insight into specific areas of potential cost savings and high return on investment (ROI);
- Interfaces with primary data sources (e.g., hazardous waste host data, laboratory, and hazardous waste disposal cost data);
- Verifies data integrity upon input and ensures its quality;
- Enables data auditing through a dynamic rules engine that provides a robust audit trail for forecasting and ad-hoc reporting;
- Customizes data auditing for business-specific needs;
- Produces cost reports in both Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF formats;
- Customizes billing cycles to a business-specific frequency (e.g., monthly, quarterly);
- Provides data archival for historical purposes while still keeping data accessible post-billing cycle.
