Environmental Data Integration System (EDIS)
EM-Assist’s Environmental Data Integration System (EDIS) is a Microsoft SharePoint-based data management and integration application that serves as the backbone for many of EM-Assist’s software modules. EDIS was designed to link to existing data management systems and integrate information to provide usable summary data for high-level reviews and quick-look assessments, in addition to providing granular supporting data. It also provides vertical integration and allows for roll-up reporting of information at the Headquarters, Command, and Installations levels. The system’s modular design enables its users to customize functionality at the Installation level without affecting standardized core functionality and consistent agency-wide Command and Headquarters-level vertical roll-up reporting.
The EDIS multi-media approach has helped clients reduce stove-piped program management, resulting in significant and clearly measurable cost savings, reduced duplicate data entry, and reduced compliance risk.
EDIS includes the following features:
- Enables clients to manage the application on their own without the need for ongoing EM-Assist support;
- Assigns, monitors, and manages tasks in detail to ensure accountability to organizations and assigned personnel;
- Provides for user management with at least three levels of authorization;
- Offers searchable document management module that allows for the upload of a variety of common document types and assignment of document attributes;
- Creates document queries from the relational database, and creates an audit trail;
- Features calendar that adjusts automatically based on each user profile;
- Integrates data from disparate systems via easy-to-use data integration feature;
- Prints custom reports that consolidate data from disparate data sources;
- Manages assets including their capacity, operating cost, owning organization, location, and capital cost;
- Configurable through the addition of either existing EM-Assist EDIS modules
(for example, EMS Module and
HM/HW Module) or custom-developed modules.
